In early 2007, the New Mexico Cancer Center introduced a state-of-the-art, 18,000-square-foot cancer care facility to the residents of Gallup. This full-service facility, staffed with both a medical oncologist and a radiation oncologist, is committed to providing culturally appropriate, technically superior, patient-centered cancer care. New Mexico Cancer Center-Gallup also doubles as gallery space, displaying works of art crafted by area artists.

The Center has been blessed by a Navajo medicine man, and features an on-site hogan for use by patients, as well as members of the community
