Our History

New Mexico Cancer Center provides care to one in three New Mexicans facing cancer. We are a leader in providing cutting-edge treatment for adult cancers and blood-related disorder, and we provide care in:

New Mexico Cancer Center is operated by New Mexico Oncology Hematology Consultants, Ltd. (NMOHC), an independent physician-owned practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Medical oncologists Clark Haskins, MD, and Barbara McAneny, MD, founded the Cancer Center in 1987 because they wanted to create an independent practice that focused first on patients and their needs. Since opening our doors, our goal has always been to treat patients the way we want to be treated ourselves by providing quality, compassionate care.

The practice grew to include six partners in 2002 when it moved to the current location just off I-25 and Paseo del Norte. The facility was originally 34,800 square feet and expanded to 42,695 square feet in 2003. A building addition and more expansion over the years have increased the total square footage to 82,166 square feet in one location.

We want to keep you as healthy as possible, and keep you at home and out of the hospital by responding to as many of your medical needs as we possibly can.
